About Us

Who We Are

STL Deaf Sport & Social Club was founded with a simple goal: to create a welcoming space for Deaf and Hard of Hearing adults in the St. Louis area to connect, play, and thrive.

Our Mission

We are dedicated to creating sports and social events tailored to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, along with their family members, interpreters, and ASL students. Whether you use ASL or not, and whether you’re Deaf, deaf, deafblind, hard of hearing, or hearing—everyone is welcome to join and be part of our club. Our mission is to empower our members, build strong networks, and provide opportunities for fun and fitness in an inclusive environment.

About The Founder

Rachel, a young Deaf woman with cochlear implants, was inspired by her experience at the Mike Busch Fantasy Baseball Camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing kids. The camp brought her together with others in the Deaf community through baseball, sparking a vision for a space where Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adults could connect, play, and grow.

This vision led to the creation of STL Deaf Sport & Social Club—a community where sports, fun, and friendship meet. Rachel is committed to bringing people together, creating new opportunities, and making the Deaf/HoH community stronger than ever.
